UCF
increases potential card revalue sites by millions – using the web
The
University of Central Florida has added a million new locations where
the UCF Card can be reloaded by using the SmartCity® Web Revalue
feature. Previously funds could be loaded to cards at designated
campus sites only, using cash revalue stations or at the card offices.
Now any computer, located anywhere, can load value to any card over
the Internet.
In
addition to making the location easier, now any person who has the
student ISO number can load value to a card. This allows a parent to
load funds to a student card to be spent at any of the many on- or
off-campus locations. Value can be loaded from credit, debit or
checking accounts and can be loaded to any specific purse, from among
the three purses on the card – such as the Bookstore purse. An email
is then sent to the cardholder to let them know that funds are
available to download to their card. This is done at one of the kiosks
located around the campus.
Convenience is the main benefit to students and parents from this new
move. Cards can now be loaded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, from the
convenience of the person’s own home. This reduces bottlenecks which
may occur at peak times, such as the start of a semester, when large
numbers of students need to load value at once.
“Web
Revalue has been a wonderful addition for us, eliminating waits in the
Card Office and making it much easier for parents to load value to a
card at anytime,” commented Tammy Kidder, UCF Card Services Manager.
Kieran Timmins, CEO of SmartCentric said “I am delighted to be working
with UCF to expand the scope of their SmartCity system. We are fully
committed to developing the UCF system and to ensuring that they get
the best possible offering for their students. The addition of Web
Revalue will certainly enhance their card offering and provide
substantial added convenience for staff and cardholders.” |
