SmartCentric Newsroom SmartCentric adds HID iCLASS® support to SmartCity® Product Suite SmartCentric Technologies International Ltd (SmartCentric), the leading provider of smart card systems in the campus market, announced today they have been working with HID Global to add iCLASS® support to the full SmartCity® Product Suite. This will include cashless purchases at POS, vending machines, laundry, Pay for Print, meal plan, Web Revalue of cards, cardholder portal, logical access and physical access using iCLASS cards. As an HID iCLASS Development Partner, SmartCentric has been working with HID Global to ensure that the iCLASS implementation is robust and supports campus’ needs for a multi-application smart card. It is anticipated that the full implementation will be complete by Q2 2007. “The incorporation of iCLASS into SmartCity® will provide our customers with a real choice of advanced RFID card platforms and new opportunities for expanded use of the SmartCity® multi-application family of smart card solutions,” comments Kieran Timmins, CEO for SmartCentric. “The HID Global partnership and incorporation of iCLASS allows our current and prospective customers to specify iCLASS technology today while moving toward the use of new applications as a part of the SmartCity® Product Suite,” says Chris Rizzetto, Director of Sales for SmartCentric in North America.
