Kieran J Timmins, Chief Executive Officer

Kieran is a founding member of SmartCentric and has been the driving force behind the establishment of SmartCentric.  He has steered SmartCentric's flagship product, SmartCity, from a smart card-based e-purse (electronic purse) application to a smart card system that supports multiple applications on a single card supporting either RFID technologies or traditional contact technologies.  Kieran background is a combination of management, technical and marketing. He has extensive experience in the Financial Services and Smart Card Industry, both domestically and internationally and has held a number of management, marketing, and technical positions during a twenty seven-year career in companies such as Fujitsu Services (formerly ICL), Kindle Banking Systems (now part of Misys Group), IBM and Smurfit Computing. Kieran received his Masters in Management from Trinity College Dublin Ireland.

Tim Griffin, Head of Development

Tim has spent nearly 30 years working in the Telecomms and IT industry.  Based on a solid technical grounding and a career which has encompassed roles in all aspect of software development, he has spent the last eight years managing multi-million dollar, multi-national development projects to successful delivery. He has successfully delivered full infrastructure systems across a broad range of industry verticals. Having previously worked with the core members of the SmartCentric development team in the previous ICL/Fujitsu Smartcard Group, he rejoined SmartCentric in 2006 to oversee the expansion of the SmartCity® product to its next level. He has many technical certifications and is a Prince 2 accredited practitioner.

Peter Rush, Chief Technical Officer

Peter has been the technical driving force behind SmartCity® since the establishment of SmartCentric and prior to that within Fujitsu Services.  Peter has sixteen years experience in software engineering, eight of these in the smartcard and cryptography area. He has participated in the entire software development cycle from initial customer consultation to ultimate delivery. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Dublin City University in Ireland

Carl Painter,  Director Technical Services, North America

Carl Painter brings more than 12 years of campus card and ID technology experience to SmartCentric -- stretching from early years with Florida State University's FSUCard program to more recent work with imaging system developer Vision Database Systems.  During that time he has helped install ID-Related systems to over 50 campuses and institutions, written ID-related software, managed support teams, and either setup or lead mass carding events.  He currently holds a BS in Interdisciplinary Physics/Computer Science from Florida State University, and numerous certifications from Microsoft, Novell, and Checkpoint. In his spare time, he volunteers as one of the captains in Florida’s community emergency response team (CERT) where he has received CPR/AED training, and most recently his technician class HAM amateur radio license.
